Who Cares?
Who cares about the woman
Responsible for all the chores
The cooking, cleaning, ironing childcare
Not forgetting the dirty floors
Who cares when she doesn’t feel hungry?
That she still has to stand and to cook
Who cares when she’s feeling exhausted
Does anyone bother to look?
Who cares that the sinks are all dirty
The plugholes are full up with hair
Who cares when there’s piles of ironing
And there’s dust and dirt everywhere
Who cares that a fucking black sock
Is turning a white wash to grey
Who cares when they miss and pee on the floor
Who’ll clean it up the next day?
Who cares that this wife and this mother
Is hiding the woman inside
Who cares that she sacrificed most of her life
When she gave up the woman for bride
Who cares that now she’s unhappy
That the burden sometimes she can’t bear
Who cares that she’s taken for granted
Cause the husband and kids they don’t care
Who cares that she’s given all that she can
Now she’s empty and aching inside
Who cares that she’s longing to turn back the clock
And close the door on this life
Who cares if one day she won’t be there
Cause she’s gone off to find a new life
Who cares that she’s gone back to look for the time
When this woman was not just a mother and wife…
They Will!!
